For most of chinese, in China and here in Singapore, Chinese New Year is a time to get together with relatives and friends, pay respect to their elders and talk about the past, present and future, giving oranges for good luck and ‘hong bao’ (red packet with money). The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday for them. It’s very much like Christmas in the Philippines or Thanksgiving in the United States.”

Here’s greeting Everybody a great and prosperous Lunar New Year! May we all be lucky (though we make our own luck) in this year of the rat. enjoy the holiday! Gong Xi!!!

Happy Chinese New Year Rey! Chinese New Year is not an official holiday here in Cambodia but it’s a big celebration, nonetheless. All stores are closed and a lot of employees have taken their leaves.

Thanks for the wishes! I just came back from my hometown and was there for two weeks!

It was refreshing since I caught up with all my relatives. Catching up is always fun!
